If you are looking for guidance for a longer time of Sunday worship then you are welcome to use this outline as a starting place.
Opening prayer
Gracious God we hear your call to worship once again and we respond with great humility. The fact that you would desire to be in a relationship with us is overwhelming and we are truly blessed by this gift. May our worship be a fitting response to your great invitation and may our lives reflect the new life we have in your name. We quieten our hearts and minds in this moment, as we listen for your still small voice – come Holy Spirit come. Heal, renew, refresh us – In Jesus name. Amen.
Scripture – Jeremiah 6:16
“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
Closing prayers and blessings
Lord, your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Thank you that we can live in Your light and walk in Your truth. May the things that you have revealed and thoughts that we have shared dwell in our hearts and stir us to action. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen. (a short prayer for closing a bible study, based on Psalm 119:105, from www.lords-prayer-words.com)
