If you are looking for guidance for a longer time of Sunday worship then you are welcome to use this outline as a starting place.
Opening prayer
Lord Jesus, we accept your invitation to worship you today. You have been beckoning us – calling us into deeper communion with you all week. We bring all our baggage, troubles and anxiety into this sacred time, knowing that you are already aware of these concerns.
Almighty God, we know that many of these worries will not magically disappear, but we believe that in the light of your love, they will be put into proper perspective. Jesus, you are Lord of All – great and small, seen and unseen, human and animal, birds, plants and trees – everything in all creation derives its existence from you. O Holy Lord, receive our worship today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Call to worship – Psalm 90:13-17
13 O Lord, come back to us!
How long will you delay?
Take pity on your servants!
14 Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
15 Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace the evil years with good.
16 Let us, your servants, see you work again;
let our children see your glory.
17 And may the Lord our God show us his approval
and make our efforts successful.
Yes, make our efforts successful!
Prayers for others
Special prayer for those impacted by crime and violence, farm murders and GBV. We also pray for students writing exams and their families.
