Opening prayer

Merciful and loving God, we come to worship you this morning with joy and thankfulness. We are thankful that you have invited us into the gift of your presence. We are thankful that you have not counted our sins against us, but have given your Son, Jesus Christ, for our redemption. We acknowledge that we are not worthy of your abundant love, but we humbly receive the offer of your reconciliation. We still our hearts and minds today, asking that your Spirit would speak into our lives and bring us back into alignment with your great purpose and will. May our worship be more than simple lip-service to you, but rather a resolution to renew our commitment to you! We pray this in Jesus name. Amen.
